If you are doing a lot of traveling it will be extremely helpful to have a cellular phone to stay in contact with people and vice versa. A cellular phone is also a “safety” issue.  It will give you the ability (most of the time) to call for help if you break down, or have some other emergency.

Email is also an effective way to communicate with people all around the world through the internet.

You may not always have access to the internet, but you can usually find somewhere to sign “online” to check your email.

Most churches where you stay will have no problem allowing you access to a phone line to check your email or pay your bills online, etc. if you will ask.

Most libraries in the country have internet access for public use.
